Located in the heart of Uganda at an elevation of about 3900 feet renowned for its rolling hills (originally seven) just like most cities of the world. Kampala is one of the fastest growing cities in Africa sitting on 189 sq. kilometers 13 of which is covered by water i.e. Lake Victoria the second largest freshwater lake in the world after Lake Superior.
The name Kampala was derived from a kiganda phrase “akasozi k’mpala meaning the hill of impalas because the area once had a large population of impalas and was kabaka’s favorite hunting ground. The city offers different fun activities ranging from religious, cultural, experiential, business, entertainment, social and nostalgic tourism all for memorable experiences. You can do a bicycle safari, take a vehicle ride or do a walk tour. Exploring Kampala on foot is one of the best ways to enjoy the city since walking allows you take in everything one at a time unlike in the car.
National museum, Bahai temple, Independence monument, Nakasero market, Owino market Terminals, Namirembe/St. Paul’s cathedral, Rubaga/ St. Mary’s Cathedral, Gaddaffi mosque, Lubiri/ kabaka’s palace, Namugongo martyr’s shrine and Kasubi Tombs.
On top of this, you can also visit various night hideouts such as clubs, restaurants, casinos among others of which you are assured of enjoying yourself all night.
